Paolo Nutini

Im a bit late in realising how amazing this guy is. A dear friend of mine introduced me to his music before I realised that he was the artist behind his more mainstream songs like 'new shoes' and 'Jenny don't be hasty'. I love his music and his voice is not what i'd expect for a 23 year old which I think attracts me to it even more.

Many of his songs are my favourites but the one I want to share today is 'growing up beside you'.
Its a bit of a slower one.

Whos the Boss?

Now, I haven't actually finnished this yet but I have to share with you what im up to and also show you how cute my dog can be.

Ive been asked to make a suit for a friends dog for their wedding and this is my little play around to see how I could make it work.

For Joy

My friend Joy requested a wee while ago that I make her a coat for winter to keep her toastie. I agreed. We briefly spoke of what she wanted and off I went and created her a coat over Queens Birthday weekend. It was my last project before I start on the big Wedding project. aaargh!

Creative Cats

I have joined an awesome group who gather together once a month around yummy treats in front of a warm fire and do crafts. It might sound geeky to some but its flippin amazing to say the least. We all share knowledge and make some pretty sweet stuff. Since then, I found that there are not enough hours in the day to make stuff. We all motivate each other to start and finnish projects and we also have 'show off and tell' where we all show off what weve been up to since we last saw each other.

New things

I haven't posted any creations in a while but I definitly have been a little busy bee. I promise. Craft has taken over my life in the last few weeks and there has been little time for internet. Hoping to post more soon but heres 2 shapeless dresses I have made. Im loving them for winter cos theyre so comfy to wear with a warm pair of tights and a belt. Depending on my mood, I wear them with some round toe heels or my comfy flat boots.

here goes...

Thank yous go out to the talented Tania for the photos and Jodique salon for the nails.

Hair for a Big Day

Today I went and took photos of some beautiful classic hair styles. Perfect for weddings and school balls. The hair was styled by the talented Susan Atkinson from Shadze Hair Design in Khandallah. The photos were taken at Jodique in Lower Hutt.

Pretty Pictures

I have some photos to share.

My twin dear friend Delia agreed to letting me get all up in her pretty face with my camera so I could take some photos of some garments that I have been working on lately.

Theres actually only two items that I made in these photos but Delia looks so beautiful in these that I have decided to put many on.

I made the pink top to inject some colour into my dark winter wardrobe. Not sure what inspired the design. I didnt really put much pre-thought into it but it all came together at the end of the night. Got the fabric from Global Fabrics.

The second item I made is a winter coat as it is definitly a need for these cold days that are creeping in.

good times!

Teach a man to sew....

....and he'll take in his own t-shirts for life. (I hope).
I recently taught my partner how to take in t-shirts and since then he's been hooked. Because of his height, t-shirts that fit him in length are usually way too wide for him. Now that he knows how to do it himself hes been on a roll and has been adjusting almost his entire wardrobe.

Here he is working away.
